Your Favorite Fishing Books
« on: October 09, 2011, 11:34:33 AM »
Ok...I know its not winter yet...but here goes...

What are your favorite fishing books...I'm sure we all could add another book to our collections...

Focus can either be on fiction...or maybe a fishing in general...or perhaps something on stripers...

For a more entertaining read, I like A Season on the Edge by John Skinner and of course On the Run by Dave Dibennedetto.  When it comes to sheerly informational reading, Frank Daignault and the Shore Catch team have some good ones out.

Sorry for the sKetchy deatails but I'm not in front of my bookshelf. Here's what I can think of off the top of my head...

On The Run - The former SWS editor chroicles his following of the striper migration down the coast.

Striped bass fishing by Gary Caputi: Great general how to by a local guy.

SWS Striped Bass book: Collection of SWS articles. Good general info.

SWS Salt Water fishing book: Another collection of general saltwater fishing info.

An Island and a fish: Chronicles of the annual MV fall fishing derby.

Striper: A story of man and fish: Collection of short stories about striper fishing.

Manny Luftglass books: All great local info.

John Punola books: more local info.

Hudson river Stripers: All you need to know about fishing the huson.

Chesapeke Striper: Biograph of a guy who grew up striper fishing the eatern shore.

Not really all fihing but all of Pat Mcmanus's books. Humor writer for Outdoor Life.

NY State put out some books a while back about different regions- Catskill Fishing, Adirondack fishing and Fishing Lake Ontario and it's Tribs.
