Hi Mboy,

They sell (which I use) a nut that is attached to two pieces of plastic that move up and down. This also pivots the nut.

So, you drill the hole. Send the plastic/nut contraption in through the hole. You then adjust the nut to be parallel to the floor (it is a nice size wing nut so it will hold like a backing plate). You then tighten your bolt. The plastic pieces snap off flush.

Very awesome solution instead of cutting an access hole in the deck.

West Marine sells them. I will get you the name and link later as I have to run now!

Thanks,

Ed

Yo Mike.... call Reel Life in Pt Pleasant.... I do believe when I was there a few weeks ago they had one or 2 out in front of the store on Clearance.... I think it was Reel Life....
If not when I use to have a 19ftr I Purchased a leaning post from Todd Enterprises.... It slipped right over the seat post, you drill 5/8 hole through both and secure it with a pin.... Must say it worked out well for me.... seat was well padded with a compartment in the back but it only had 2 rocket launcher type rod holder spots.... though they do sell larger ones as shown below.....

Thank Tommy. I have seen the Todd like you had and also the one that slides over both peds.

That is pretty close to what I would like, butwould really like to have one with the flip up storage compartment (can't have enough in a CC as you know).
