Hunter 2, 10,18,2011 Not even a bluefish

I was not planning on fishing today but it beats work around the house, Pulled out of Keyport at 11am to sunny skies, no wind, water temp 60 deg high tide coming at 12 noon. Funny thing,, The girl at the gas dock told me she did not think any fish will be biting today. I trolled the Raritan triangle towards the train bridge with a Bunker spoon and a tube umbrella rig with no luck, The VHF radio chatter was saying they were marking them but no bites. I tried drifting eels in my usual late October early November spots without even a nibble. Made a few more moves with the eels but that was it,Nothing..  My log books tell me the waters still too warm.  I will stick to bottom fishing till the temp drops a bit more. Or I will have to take a longer run and clam the Stripers further southeast. Good Luck ,, Eddie
