(booted) wader questions
« on: November 10, 2011, 10:16:29 AM »
1) With buying booted, is it best to buy 1 shoe size larger?

2)What's your fave gear to wear under the waders??

As always, thanks in advance for any info/insight

Normally yes, as it will allow you to wear thicker, warmer (Merino wool) socks and even a pair of disposable foot warmers in the colder months.

I like sweatpants.  However, when it's cold out I like a thin pair of base layer pants with a thicker pair of fleece pants over them.  Take into account I prefer to wear regular, baggy type waders.  Neoprenes are generally warmer to begin with.

Best advice is to go to a store and try them on before buying. t^

With a size 13 I never really have the option of going larger, but I would sure love to. I just wear regular thermal pants under my neoprene waders and I'm good to go. Sweatshirt and my pvc raincoat over everything completes my ensemble.

Best bet is to try them on.  Which can be a pain if you want a band that isn't widely available in local retailers.

Sweat pants allow for the most comfort and freedom of movement.  Also helps stay warmer if it's cold out.  But I wear jeans, shorts, etc. at times.
