On Sunday morning 11/07, had Carl, Rick & Gary out for Open Boat Stripers. With the killer bite too far South to run, we worked a number of spots to the North. Traveled around to a few spots, did not like what I saw on the machine so we kept searching. Eventually read the bass and the eels went in the water. Managed to box 5 fish including Carl's 28# striper that nearly maxed out the Boga 30. The spot became quickly over pressured and shut down.
Today was also one of those moments that makes you feel good to be a Captain. Rick is a disabled Vietnam Veteran who almost lost his arm in Vietnam. He's persevered over time and collaborated on creating this Rod Harness/Cradle which he used to hold his rod, hook and land this nice Striper. Well the smile pretty much sums it all up. Maybe this invention might someday help other wounded warriors enjoy fishing too.
Lastly, we've got a new Polyplaner IPOD Dock on the Boat purchased through and installed by
Jersey Shore Boat and Yacht Services. Got tunes, bring em.... Otherwise my IPOD has over 3000 songs. It was a good day to break it in.
Shoot me an email or call if interested in being notified for evening or short notice night trips. Will be running Striper, Tog or Combo trips in the upcoming weeks. May also run some night eeling trips too.
