Bandit IV - MLK 1/16/12 Blackfishing Report

Hi guys:

We had a nice group of Jersey guys charter the boat on Monday 1/16.  Steamed about 30 miles to the southeast to fish some wrecks in 55-65 ft of water.  Started with little to no anchoring conditions, but when we finally came tight, we had 3-4 fish on right away.

Started picking away for about 2 hours on this drop with fish up to 12.5 lbs.  Decided to make a move about 1/2 mile to another piece and found anchoring conditions deteriorating but we got a bite going.  Picked and plucked and most guys ended up the day with around 4-7 keepers.  High hook for the day had 8-9 fish.

Final tally  we had somewhere around 90 keepers for the day for the 16-man charter with a bunch of nice fish in the 5-7lb class.

Thanks to Stelios for getting the last minute trip together and also to all the guys who made the trip down to fish with us this past weekend!  We really appreciate it and hope to see you back soon!

Turned out to be a nice day at sea and we caught some tog too  ;D I wound up with 7 keepers but the the big fish beat me up today. I think everybody I talked to battled and lost a good one . Oh well next time !!!!! Had a lotta fun thanks Capts Scotty and Jerry for a job well done  ;D

had a blast...the 2 of us took home 19 fish with a 8 and 9 in the bunch.....
