Terrific first trip of 2012

Headed out of MI at around 8:30 with my buddy Rick and son Mike. Turned north and drove to just south of the rocks. What we were met with was nothing short of wild. Thousands of birds absolutely bombarding the water. It looked to me like the water fountain show at the Bellagio in Vegas.

Under the birds there were large bass feeding on what appeared to be small bunker. We started jigging and we limited out pretty quickly. We played CnR for the next few hours. Headed in by 11:30.

The wind was brisk today with 5-6ft swells the whole time. Can't tell you water temp, I'm having radar installed and the electronics are off while the work is being completed.

All in all a terrific trip and a great way to start the year. Be out again on Friday...

Lord willing, I think I'll be there for good.

just surf for now....will get back into boat when kids are older...hopefully hoffman's again.
