We joined the skunk club trolling swimmers on the edges of the channels yesterday morning, from the candlesticks to Scotland and back north nearer to the beach.
The usual crew, up to the usual antics, we had a couple knockdowns and judging by the drill you'd think we had been at it last week, as opposed to last year. Ok I guess trollin ain't that hard, but we ROCKED it. Fun, fun, but non productive, as the light rod kept going off-maybe it needed a lil more backbone to hookset....
Today I ducked down to the marina for a quick lunch, and a fellow GW owner was marking fish locally, and hooked up on the med. rod with a nice fat almost 35"er that was superclean and fought well. He made a couple strong runs until he was finally tired out enough to come boatside. Actually there was some fumbling with the net at that point, but they were able to get it in somehow to head back to work.... For some reason the boga scale probly needs new batteries, I will try to post a pic from the cell phone later.
I think if I had more time I could have limited the boat...
