Raymarine A series help
« on: May 01, 2012, 09:19:02 PM »
How do I recalibrate then temperature?  For some reason it's reading 140 degrees for the water temperature.  I tried finding it in the manual with no luck.

Yeah I don't know that you can reset it, short of resetting the entire unit which may cost you any waypoints or stored info if you have them.  Not sure that would even help though, the issue is likely in your trandsducer.
The cure for everything is salt water: sweat, tears, and the sea.

I would say Ducer too But try here bottom of this list

ALSO IF you find the ducer bad --they make a tem sensor that can be wired into nmea for a much less cost--small black tube in pic

To open the fishfinder transducer settings menu:
1. Make a fishfinder window active.
2. Press and hold the PAGE/MENU button.
3. Use the trackpad to select the Transducer Settings option.
Transducer options
• Select Transducer
When selecting a transducer, the A-Series displays a list of possibilities
from which you can choose.
• Select Speed Transducer
This option is only available if the selected transducer is one
that does not include an integrated speed transducer.
• Frequency Calibration
Hides the setup menu and brings up a set of soft keys to tune
the transducer frequencies.
• Depth Offset (waterline)
Offset represents the depth of the transducer (relative to the
waterline)
• Speed and temperature offsets
Calibrate the speed transducer and thermistor (if fitted

the temp sensor went bad if it was off a a few degrees you can adjust it, its a common thing put one on my old boat and the new boat has a stand alone temp sensor with a y cable to replace the one in the transducer.

I feel the same--the last thing to check is connections--free from corrosion--at the unit.- from the ducer

The 140--is about what happens when the temp. goes bad

OK.. so it seems like that transducer is bad for the temp.  I guess I will look into a separate temp system..
