South Branch Carp
« on: May 06, 2012, 03:29:36 PM »
Last friday me and my buddy went down to the southbranch river in hillsborough for some carp fishing. As soon as we got to our spot we started chumming up some corn. Down river we heard and saw a big carp break water. For the next hour we got one hit but no hooks ups so we kept throwing out more corn trying to lure one of those big boys in. I was holding my pole when Wham i got a big thump and than a hard pull and i knew it was on. As soon as i hooked up and line started screaming out as the fish ran downstream. Now i am using a medium action bass pole with ten pound test. So as i am watching my line on my spool get smaller and smaller i knew i had to get wet. As i started to run down river i had to grab my reel to stop line from coming out because i was about to get spooled. Thank god the fish turned and started coming back upstream or i would have lost him. It took me about ten minutes to get that fish in we estimated between ten and fifteen pounds. So after that chaos i rebaited and threw my line back out there. Another half hour went by when i started getting taps. Then all a sudden my line stated going out so i gave it to him. This dam fish nearly spooled me too. I had to wade into the river and chase him down till he tired. Now i could tell this fish had a little more backbone than the first one it took nearly twenty minutes before we even got a look at him. Finally were able to net the thing and boy was it big. If only we brought the scale we would know how big it really was but we estimated between 25 and 30 pounds. All in all it was a good day between me and my buddy we caught five fish total between 9lbs and 30lbs. I love carp fishing hours of waiting for minutes of Chaos chrz
Why can't we fish 5 days a week and work 2!

they are fun. TT^
A good day of fishing is better than a bad day of fishing. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. That means work sucks!
