f150 trim sender
« on: May 28, 2012, 11:25:08 AM »
my trim gauge is reading all the way up. a couple years ago i upgraded the tab that the sensor rides on, and its good as i checked it.

the sensor arm was stuck, i freed it up so it goes as should now, but still reading as trimmed all the way up.

my main question: anybody know if that sensor able to be pulled apart and cleaned inside or anything before dropping 140 bucks on a new one?

known problem. very common. live with it or continue to throw money at it.

I decided to live with it about 6yrs ago now, no problems since and WAY cheaper. You should be fine tuning to how the boat is actually riding, not the gage reading, anyway.

i pretty much go by feel, just don't like things not right. to much for a new switch, so i'll keep living with it.

was just wondering if it comes apart and can be cleaned. a little tlc can go a long ways with some things.
