Can Berkley Lightning IM6 rod handle a braid?
« on: June 01, 2012, 10:41:05 PM »
Hi All.  I have a Berkley Lightning rod IM6 (6'6", 8-14 lb) that I use with 10 lb mono.  I was considering loading my reel with braid but wondered if the guides could withstand the braid. I don't believe it is supposed to be used with braid but I haven't been able to find any info on this issue when I researched it online.    ???

Anyone have experience with this rod?   5hrug

Thanks for any info.

Should be able to handle up to 20 lb. braid or so.  Just be sure to set your drag accordingly.
