Left the dock with a full boat. Six anglers trying for fluke.
Went north out of Shark River inlet. Made a stop off of Bradley Beach in 60 feet of water. The Dead Sea. Went to Elberon, 60 feet of water. Managed a couple of keepers. Moved to Shrewsbury Rocks and found some keepers. Lots of small seabass made it over the over the rail but not in the pail. All went back but one at thirteen inches.
Moved back south a set up a drift off of a lump at Asbury Park. The fishing got better there. Still a poor drift but we managed to finish the day with eight keeper fluke and one sea bass. Captain Joe put in a 25 3/4 inch fluke that weighed 7.4 pounds on an uncertified digital scale. Captain Joe's biggest this year. Bob Cole was high hook with half of our keepers (4).
No wind caused no drift conditions all day. Water temp registered at 68 degrees at the rocks, 71 degrees near Shark River inlet.
