Raritan Bay Weekend report
« on: June 25, 2012, 10:19:32 AM »
The misses and I got out both Sat and Sunday to take advantage of the beautiful conditions.   Saturday we stayed local and drifted the flats.  Ended up with a 22" fat keeper and a bunch of shorts.    The keeper was caught on a Thundermist viper spoon tipped with peanut bunker and gulp.  Ran over to the triangle but I always hit it at the wrong tide or wind.   Seems like I'm always flying through there and barely holding bottom.

On Sunday we wanted to run for a bit so we went outside the hook.   Ended up throwing back a bunch of 17" fish.   They my wife finally broke the streak and caught her first keeper, a 19", on a belly strip and gulp on another thunder mist spoon.

I bought those spoons at the Somerset tackle show.  Pretty impressive in the water and good for deadsticking.   The 22" I caught was hooked with all 3 hooks.   Worth a shot if bucktails aren't holding bottom.

Finished up with crab stuff fluke for dinner.   Not a bad weekend.

t^ TRIANGLE ALWAYS MOVES PRETTY GOOD
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
