Does anyone know if all this hot weather will bring in a decent amount of fluke for the weekend? Planning on going and catching a few shorts and I will be happy

Don't know how the weather will effect them--But there are plenty of Keepers out there.

The high temperatures are not going to affect water temperatures or the amount of fish really at all!  Fluke are here already...sometimes they are there, sometimes they are not.

Are you fishing from land or by boat?  Either way, I would say your chances are just as good, regardless of the heat wave, at catching some fish!

I'm fishing on the surf and heard the warm water helps for a better catch...I go for fun most of the time and now I'm hearing that floating hogs are great for fluking off the surf..do any of you guys use them or know where I can get a floating jig from?

I have no clue about a floating hog rig, but live bait has been doing excellent in the Sandy Hook/Raritan area recently. Great reports all around.

I caught one fluke and a couple sea Robins. They were about 5 ft away from the surf so then I realized to cast close and kept getting hits but wasn't able to hook them. Maybe next time

Fluke like to sit in the wash, usually smaller ones but youll catch a keep here and there. alot of those hits you may have been getting could be crabs they like the wash too. Thanks for the report.

Is this what you are referring to?  It's a floating jighead rig.  Years ago I fished them a lot in the surf and also in the bay.  Attach a 2 oz. bank sinker to the snap and a couple of spearing on the hook.  I bet some Gulp! would be equally effective.

Ya I guess that's the one people talk about it but I heard to put a spro on where the weight goes for it to be more effective
