This might help. Print it and keep it handy as a reference, along with your HMS Permit.http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/sfa/hms/sharks/2008/Rec_shark_ID_placard.pdf

Black tips have a black mark on there dorsal fin, Spiny dogfish are endangered you probably wont see many of them fcp Pool sharks are hard to identify because of there many disguises.
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Here is a pic of a card shark.

Seriously though, Nice find Darren. I have not seen that before. I printed it out, laminated it and will keep it on the boat.  t^

Go to BJ's. Buy their cheap laminator for about $22, a box of the pouches for $7 and you can laminate anything you will ever need and not have to leave the security of your home... TT^

Yes, these are 2 different species.  Sandbar and Sand Tiger Sharks.

Sandbar sharks also called brown sharks seem to be more commonly caught.  Sand tiger sharks are also known as grey nurse sharks.  Both are prohibited/protected species to keep in both State and Federal Waters and both look completely different from one another.

I believe the sand shark that he is  referring to is actually a dogfish, some people call them sand sharks.
