Left Sayreville at 6:00 (very nice morning), when I got to the Atlantic Highlands Marina and got out of my truck, I almost did a 180 and went home! The wind was constant and hard. I hopped on a boat (Capt. Ron's not back yet) and went out. I assume there was a small craft warning, heavy blow, good size chop, yet still a nice day! I haven't seen such a short/keeper ratio all season, I had double figures with many delicious looking 17 inchers going back into the drink. What a shame!, no keepers for the 2nd week. There were a ton of sharks and a cow nose ray (est. 40-50lbs, I thought it was still early for those things yet). Still, great to be out in the sun, sea and fresh air. I'll try again next week.
Oh, and I lost my lucky fishing hat when the wind blew it off my head!
