HOT! Tom and I were out looking for our favorite flatfish this morning leaving our slip at Atlantic Highlands Marina about 7 AM. First stop was at the breakwater at the East entrance to the harbor. Within minutes Tom had our first keeper Fluke about 18½", we knew this to be a bad omen for the rest of the trip as the bite soon died. Moving about the Southeast corner of Sandy Hook Bay I picked up one more while picking through about a hundred shorts. Back to the harbor entrance Tom picked up our final keeper for the day.
There were no Sea Robins or yellow-eyed demons for use as bait, only giant Killies that Tom has been trapping at his secret spot. Pete
