Well with all good intentions the three of us headed out into Island Beach State Park. Uncle Joe, Dan and myself headed for Gillkins for a little morning fishing fun. Well as we crested the dune the ocean was a churning mess. Not unfishable but not the best. We set up and began to get down to business. Dan was going to try and wakl the beach and throw AVA's in the holes while Uncle Joe and I decided to fish the hole that we were usually productive in.
Our baits of choice were clams and bunker chunks. We were able to hole with 6oz of lead but just barley. the sky's were over cast and it was spitting for a while. There was some grass but nothing to hold you back from fishing.
Well, I have to say the conversations were great and we all agreed that we will do it again soon but as far as fish they were no where to be found. Getting back to Grumpys to drop Dan off at his truck I checked the log and nothing was reported caught so far.
It was good to get back out once again. Next time we will try some different tactics and move a bit more but for now, the fish won this one.
Happy Catching
