beach fluke

any luck off the beach? and what is the best set up i use a 3/4 to 1 ounce bucktail tipped with berkley gulp chartreuse swimming mullet is this a good set up i have caught some but not alot of keepers. any tips on surf fishing for fluke? thanks.

Off the beach your not going to get a lot of keepers what your using is fine, Try to fish inlets and creek mouths if possible or look for big drop offs. t^
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

I fish what you are using with a teaser tied on about a foot above the bucktail. Teaser and bucktail both have gulp or similar plastics  added. A key to fluking the surf is a super slow retrieve. You should be on the verge of boredom because you will be reeling in so slowly. If you are getting mostly shorts increase the size of your bait, for instance 6" gulp instead of 4". Even better for landing the larger flatties is to catch some spot in the surf and throw one back out with a 5/0 hook and an egg sinker and slowly reel in.
