Bass vs Cunner- help

This saturday, we had a pretty good trip down in the brielle bay (saltwater). One of things we were getting a lot of bites and hooks were these fish (image attached). Caught this on a smaller hook with squid strips, under a bridge. Can anyone tell me if these were bass or cunners/bergalls?

Going by the shape, size of the mouth, and coloration, they look like small SeaBass to me..  Cunners (bergals) have a smaller mouth, and a brownish color.
