I only go 1 mile to the ramp.  Played it lazy this spring and just spun the trailer tires and greased the bearings through the zerk.  Thought I was good...NOT.

A little water intrusion and heat is all it takes!!!

At least the wheel held on till I got home and spindle isnt damaged.... ;D

Isn't it fun when some one pulls up beside you yelling,"your wheels on fire." ;D happens that salt will do crazy things. t^ to minimal damage

Good thing you got back, at least you were local. A brake line in my truck broke after trailering to Lake George last week while up north. After a tow truck, four new brake lines, 4 calipers, 4 hoses and fittings and fluid and a $1890 bill. The truck got us home with boat in tow yesterday without a problem.  t^.  Turns out that Chevy knows about this problem with trucks in the 2002 range but have not been forced to do a recall :P.  Thank god my wife was able to stop and pull over on a very steep mountain road and use better judgement to call me for help.
