put another few hours on the water in the evening from about 5:30 to 8. first two hours was exactly one nibble. Found a spot around navy pier were we were able to pull 4 shorts, a robin and a dogfish. Everything hit off the spearing again except for the dogfish which nailed the robin belly. 3 fluke weren't even worth a measurement and the last one was 16-3/4". forgot the wifes rollin pin at home so couldn't make it work.
I've been trying bucktails, gulp, bloodworms, clam, squid, and killies. only thing that is working for us now is a hi/lo rigged with the spearing....and even that is only good for shorts and robins. I'm beginning to wonder if there are any keepers left in the bay
Oh well thats why its called fishing. still another enjoyable night out with the old man even though the wind and the chop was a little much for my little boat.
