AJ's and the Gulf Council! Come November
« on: July 19, 2012, 11:47:03 AM »
From the behind the desk, far from on the water, report from our own Gulf Council:
Concerning amber jack: :"Adjustments to the rebuilding plan are needed because the current annual catch limit exceeds the new acceptable biological catch." the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council (Council) recommended a new acceptable biological catch of 1,780,000 lb, which is less than the current catch limit of 1,830,000 lbs

Now does this really come as a surprise to anyone? And, guess what? The council can also prove that the AJ's are getting much smaller:   Bob H.

Thanks!
That monster was a real 100 + pound brute. Will, on the (R), caught him on a 12 inch mangrove snapper.  Hopefully it will draw attention to our fight.  The Florida Gulf Council is part of NOAA. We are all fighting Dear Jane's bring on catch shares NOAA. Together we can, MUST, stop this out of control monster.
