Local NY news catch discrepency...I hope!

I was just watching channel 2 news at 5pm. They reported that if you live in NY but fish in NJ, that you still have to abide by NY regulations....Does this pertain to party boat fishing? In other words if I drive to NJ and board a party boat can't I keep the NJ quotas for the day?

Something tells me they (channel 2 news) have their facts wrong because they also said that NY regs are 20.5 & 2 fish...which is wrong..it is 19.5 and 4 fish...

So can someone please let me know if I will be allowed to fish from a party boat in NJ and keep the NJ allowances without having to worry about getting hit with a hefty fine.

It depends where the boat leaves port. If you fish on a NJ party boat you fish with NJ regs.

Don't worry--If fishing a good party boat they will let you know. And fishing from a NJ boat as long as you land in NJ you are fine. If just acroos the river--good too.
