Pilot - 8/26 running through the snot pile
« on: August 27, 2012, 09:04:57 AM »
WHOA!!!  Had the pleasure and the pain of taking Capt Don Sr (on his first return trip), Don Jr and Kooz out!  We need to have our heads examined.  rgmn  Worked around the tip to some calmer water close to the beach but still a real slow go at it.  Managed to get to highland bridge and started to drift on a random area just to see.  Not to bad but rocky/swelly for sure.  We picked away at bottom dwellers.  Almost one of every specie today.  Weakie, CB, smooth doggie, flatties, etc.  Moved off to some scratchy stuff with limited action.  Headed back in between the channels by the double sticks for a quick drift even while power drifting but managed to get the lines up and down.   LR's made a showing with a handful of big ones thrown in the mix.  Another handful of flatties here and a couple in the Ambrose.   Rough day putting two in the box with Kooz putting the noose on the largest for the day 19.5"   Capt Don sr had the cheshire cat look on his face all day so I know he was in the element.  Welcome back!

Picture of the day our big boy LR  t^

Next time you catch a sea robin, hold it up and look straight down the nose and tell me you don't see Lionel Ritchie!
