The Gambler: Point Pleasant Mon. 9/3/07
« on: September 03, 2007, 05:02:09 PM »
Did the a.m. trip.  About 60 or so on board.  Winds were pretty strong.  By the third drift I had 14 ounces on.  Some rental rods needed 1 lb. to hold bottom!

And my cable weather said light winds this morning! ::)

I wound up with one keeper (about 19")
Lots of skates for me.  If I caught one more I could have started my own hockey team!

Anyway, there were about 25 or so keepers on the boat  for the whole day.  Pool winner around 4 1/2 lbs. (I think).

I have to say, even though he wasn't there today, Capt. Bogan has one of the nicest boats and one of the most friendly and helpful crews around.  It is always a pleasure to fish on his boat.  Which is a lot more than I can say for another boat (not saying any names) that I was on last week with my wife.  The mates were just awful!  I didn't post a report that day, but my wife had two nice keepers. ;D

They will be doing canyon tuna trips after fluke season ends, right through the end of October.  $310/person (too much for me).

But, on  November 1st they start jigging for stripers!! w00t
Time to break out my new Butterfly System!!

Hi Bucktail,

That is the boat I go on when going out on a Party boat. Top notch!

Fishing is tough with this weather pattern. Unfortunately, except fo maybe tomorrow, this does not long promising on the long range forecast. I hate when they prdict 10-15 knot winds (never good).

I wish everyone a productive last week of Fluke fishing!

Bucktail - good and bad experiences are welcome here for any boat/business.

Thanks for the report,

Capt. Ed

Good report Bucktail.  The past week has been tuff for finding the big ones.  Gotta keep on trying though.   t^

All I can say about Capt. Bobby Bogan and the way he runs his operation is  t^ t^.

Can't wait to do some fall jigging with him.
