Decided not to fish local and fight the current today, headed right to the rocks and glad we did!! Non-stop action for some of the best fluke fishing in a long time.
Had fish up to 7 pounds with Tom Calvo/Staten Island landing the Big one, he also had his limit and then some. Several limits around the boat including Tom Krako, Magic Mike and a couple others. One drift at slack produced 10 fish all over 3 pounds!
Some beautiful Sea Bass in the mix....a couple three and four pounders with a whole bunch of keepers.
I'm sure the change into the West wind had a lot to do with it, getting us out of that Easterly flow the past several days. Bait and jigs both worked well.
Finally some awesome weather had a bunch of customers who I haven't seen in a long time coming down.....Weather should continue to be perfect for the next several days...beat the heat and Go Fish!!
