« on: September 07, 2012, 03:24:02 PM »
Guy's I've had an off an on problem on the boat. later in my trips i am getting a stray voltage on my rails and gussets, when wet you can feel it pretty good. i'm an electrician. I believe i have a bonding issue with the metal components on the boat what i don't know is 1.where the voltage is bleeding from obviously it must be a submerged connection 2. where does bonding occour and what does it attatch to. any help appreciated slt

whs also where are you standing when you notice this or is it all over? if you find a suspect area use a continuity tester from the "source" to the rail if it lights you found it. Dennis is sure to be a help on this one. I had a similar issue on my old bow rider but that was because the wires fir the lights where ran through the rails and one of then rubbed through the insulator. Do you have a t-top? If so do your spreaders run through it? Just throwing possibles out there.
