Proud Uncle
« on: July 27, 2012, 01:04:08 PM »
This weekend is a proud occasion for myself and my family. My niece, Jackie has made the difficult choice to defend our country by enlisting in the US Navy. Fresh out of high school this mild mannered 18 year old will set off for boot camp and A school, working in inteligence and potentially a secondary field. Her goal (at least now) is to return and complete nursing school while being in the Reserves. Although, she is kicking around active duty - my guess is she will accept that when they ask her to go to OCS...

She is at Fort Dix now in-processing and will be officially sworn-in as a US Navy sailor at 0830 Monday.

Congratulations Jackie!  slt

She will do good seems she knows her own Mind. And when she is in Boot Camp she will be Tested and evaluated for a Job description. And you say she has a start in nursing. that will show up and OCS is not out of her reach, and tell her to let it be Known In the Interview they will also give her in Boot Camp. Then she will be called  LT.Jackie   slt slt slt slt slt slt slt slt. God Speed Tight Sails. Bill SN First

I am now a little more proud! Jackie has been named Honor Graduate Ship 12 Div 308!

From the letter written to Jackie's parents, my sister and brother-in-law: "Based on individual performace of duty in all phases of basic training including leadership, initiative, military bearing, response to orders, sportsmanship, qualification of a good shipmate, and high overall scholastic standing!

They received a personal invite from the Base Commander to attend the graduation ceremonies as his special guests.

Way to go Peanut!!
