Respected fisherman John Flores passes
« on: September 16, 2012, 09:17:09 PM »
I'm guessing at least some of you have heard of John Flores.  He was a hardcore jigging and popping fisherman.  I never got the opportunity to meet him, but he helped me out a while back, answering my questions on a now extinct forum and through private messages.

He had apparently been fighting cancer for a long time, before finally succumbing to it.  I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends, of which I'm sure he had many.

If you want to get pumped up about jigging and popping large fish, check out his website http://jflores-fishing.com/

Rest in peace John.

This is very Sad. I never met John. But have seen and heard a lot about him.. A close friend of Capt. Rich's and many in the fishing community.

Wow, sorry to hear the news. May he rest in peace, my prayers go out to his family. I along with a few other members here, had the pleasure to meet John and attend his tuna Jigging seminar last year at the Shore Catch event in Spring Lake.  He was happy to be able to share his Jigging techniques with us, it was his first seminar I remember him telling us after it ended and we went to thank him for taking the time to teach us.  We assured him he did a fine job.
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

I did have the privilege of fishing with him last fall.
Nice guy, helped me out a lot on that trip.

I'd have never guessed he was ill, he was pedal to the metal the whole trip.

My condolences to  family and friends, he will be missed.

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
