Met up with Orlando and his buddy from the Union Hall, Willy, on Saturday morning at my marina....couldnt believe how hard the wind was screamin.... easy 20-25 NNW with gust around 30 or better.. my floating dock was like a roller coaster with a wild 2 foot chop in the river in front of us... so... of coarse we loaded up and went...
... talked to Capt jerry who said it wasnt bad along the beach as he was already out and running, but said forget about offshore, so...of coarse we went offshore..
.. The ride to the hook was nasty, but as we turned the corner not bad at all.... by the time we got 2 miles off it was WTF are we doing here.... hit our first number and with the drift sock out it was game on as the flat ones chewed no problem.... took a beating most of the morning with a few waves cresting on our port side soaking us pretty good..... bucktails and bluefish strips put a 3 man limit in the boat with a few 7lbs and a couple of 4/5 lbers topping off the catch..... Glad we went as Willy finally got to go with us this season.......prayin they hunker down and stay through this big blow this week.....
