With the wind/swell forecast we decided to forgo our fluke trip today. Instead we picked up some green crabs and clams and caught the low tide in the canal for a little Tog practice. It wasnt as on fire as I hoped it would be but I caught one 12 incher + about a dozen tiny seabass. Jake had 2 toggies @ 14 inches and Jakes buddy Chris had three tog up to 14. The plan was run over to the River Rock bar for some fried calamari, beers and football once the tide got ripping again. Jake kept say just five more minutes, just fire more minute. Chris and I where packing up and getting ready to leave Jake when he hooks into something that was pulling back. He ended up netting and releasing a small black drum. Then it was off to the River Rock. We also saved a squirrels life that must have fallen into the canal and was getting suck out with the outgoing tide. Chris scoop him up with the net and onto dry land.
