WreckFish Sunday Sept 30 Report
« on: October 01, 2012, 08:31:02 AM »
We got a late start today and pushed off the dock at 9.  We headed out to Axel with clams and squid for some Seabassing with calm seas and a slight northern breeze. With the slow wind I thought I would drift and not have to anchor today but the current was really ripping to the south and I had a 1 ½ knot drift. Must be the approaching full moon. So we anchored up and picked at fish all day. Seabass, blues and two short weaks. Lots of shorts, some keepers. Someone always had a bent rod.  I had the hot hand for bergal and small blues, but not keepers seabass.  The wind kicked up a little in the after afternoon from the west with tide still running to the south.   Saw Fish Stix anchor up behind us for a little while and listened to the rescue going on out at Shark River Reef. Nice relaxing day.

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
