on mine, everything is white, all the boundry lines are there, depths and what not, but no color. couldnt locate anything in the menu to turn color on or anything. any clues? only thign i did find was to color the water white, which is not checked. i also have the lei navonics chip installed.

Hi Reel Time,

Sorry ... I have only messed with fish finders (depth sounders).

I use Garmin products for GPS and Chartplotters.

To me, there must be a setting for "maximum detail" to get that color.

I will look at it when I get to California.

Thanks,

Capt. Ed

Hi Reel Time,

I have not used a finder for a long time but what is the model number? Hard to see.  I noticed there is a difference if there is a ( c ) after the main number it is a color display and if there is a ( m ) after the main numbers it is monochrome.

LMS 339c...  or  LMS 339m...

Good luck, looks like a nice unit I used to run Garmin units when I had my share of boats.

its a lms339 df c igps, its definently a color model, and the 1st time i turned it on it was color,i didnt power the unit down when i inserted the sd card, so im hoping that was it. the pic i show is the actual unit.

did some digging and found a soft and hard restart sequence that sometimes fixes small glitches.
