Where's your favorite or dream fishing spot?
« on: December 16, 2012, 09:44:56 PM »
Seeing many reports travelling fisherman makes me want to live a jetset life for a year just catching fish in all those heavenly fish havens. I'm still trying to decide my #1 location but right now it's a toss between the Bahamas, Cedros Island, and Outer Banks, NC.

I fished some wrecks off the Florida Keys.. I have to say.. it was the best fishing I ever did.  The best part is, you never know whats on the other end as many species eat the same bait.  That place is very difficult to duplicate and you can reach it in a private boat.
Fish out of Toms River NJ.

I've flown to some well known places and I think Montauk is the best place that I've been to.

I know there is some great Southern big game fishing down south.  The reason why I said the keys is because you can fish there in your boat and catch a killing.  No need to spend thousands on big game charter boats.  All the fishing is right in front of you, and never need to go to the ocean.  Tarpon and barracuda under the bridges as well as shark the size of your boat.. WOW..

Yea, I haven't been to the keys in around 15 years.  I want to give it a go when I'm on vaca again.  It's just hard to leave since the Gulf Stream comes within 5 miles from where our house is.  That and it's a long drive.  I want to get a nice used boat to keep down there so i can keep off the party boats.  We see wahoo, sailfish, barracuda, king mackeral, and all kinds of grouper, jacks, and snappers.  If I had work, I'd probably be flying down every weekend for the winter. lol
