Hey guys. I recently bought a bayliner trophy and wanted to get some opinions on electronics. What have you had luck with and what should I stay away from?

Gosh there are SOOO many to choose from. I'm lucky one of my guys gave me one he had for my boat... Thanks Bubba!! The guys here will def steer you in the right direction and my advice is look for sales. Seems they, like everything else, spike up in the spring when we're all getting ready and geared up. Now's the time! Good luck with the new ride and your new toys!!

I use the Garmin 441S. It is a plotter/fish finder combo and has done fine for more.

You can get a nice combo unit for that price in the 5" to 7" screen size. Most new units are compatible with other electronics on the boat and will communicate with each other.  Examples are VHF, sounder/GPS, radar, autopilot.  Task Marine will walk you through the options. t^

Also see if you like navionics or cmaps better many use both and its up to preference, theres demos online t^

I personally prefer two separate units, reason being if you have an issue with the screen you dont loose both gps and depth finder t^
