Ocean Grove being screwed over
« on: February 08, 2013, 11:46:14 AM »
fcp  Politics again as FEMA  plays with people lives once again. The reasons given or excuses lack any reasoning. Why is there no set rules in place to handle issues. Yes each case is different but past practice is ignored, Aid should be given evenly  to all, The biggest excuse is they are a private holding not public. So is every other beaches and access points and board walks. All of Ocean Groves areas are open to the public as the beaches and Board Walk . Under the same conditions of every other areas. Less one thing They do not stick the public with  parking fees any place in OC. I hope and Pray they prevail. As they should. Bill

really can't blame FEMA on this one.  as above stated, its private NOT public.  I don't see how its politics on this one.
It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

Many beaches have limited public access during July and August but for 9-10 months there are no restrictions. Some just make it hard for people to park cars legally especially late at night. This whole thing with FEMA not availing funds for shore communities damaged by Sandy can be hard to understand at times. Recovery will be a long process for some communities. I've heard Belmar is using FEMA funds to replace police cruisers damaged in the storm. And yet many people are still out of their homes with no money to rebuild and threats of huge flood insurance bills if they return. Yet the boardwalks are the high on the priority list.
