some more great news about the Park...
« on: April 09, 2013, 02:34:58 PM »
I heard from a very reliable source that the park had opened more fishable areas.

According to a ranger at Island Beach State Park, starting today, the access to the Island has been extended from Gillikins to Area 7, and the hours of operation have been extended to 6 PM.

Pretty soon the park on the ocean side will be open even more as time goes on.  I wish they would open the kayak and canoe launch sites at either A15 or A20.  Soon I guess.

Happy Catching

Paul

 Island Beach State Park

Supervisor Ray Bukowski has announced that the park and the beach is now open from Gillikin's Road to beach buggy entrance A-7. The bathrooms at A-7 and the air station are all back in working order. From A-7 to A-23 and to Barnegat Inlet, are still off limits until further notice.
Just be aware of your driving while on the beach as debris from Sandy is still being washed up during each tide change, TAKE IT SLOW, SPEED LIMIT IS 10 MPH. If you use your Beach Buggie on IBSP, please help by removing this debris off the beach to insure the safety of other ORV's. Enjoy and good luck during the Stripe Bass spring run.

Permits

2012 ORV permits are still being permitted onto the beach. 2013 can be purchased by mail from the State at:
