Weather was perfect with Christine and Tombo aboard for an early shove off. Flat as glass in the Navesink but a little snotty in the bay. Ran west along the reach almost to Keyport. The further west we went the more the wind and chop laid down. Picked at would be keeper fluke
and an occasional robbin
until we got into some weakies. Christine boxed a nice 23"er from the bow for her first weakfish and I had what looked like a nice one break off at the boat (Tombo needs a few net lessons but no excuses...) Wind continued to calm and we ran Tombo into Pew's Crick for an early afternoon appt. Back out to the reach but by that time it was the expected zoo. Headed back east trying a few spots but mostly avoiding the other boats. Nothin doin....Red Gulp! worms were the hot ticket but had bites on real worms as well. Broiled Mr. 23 up with butter and lemon and a little garlic: MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Nice day...
