Launched out of Leonardo around noon. First time out since we got the boat back, after repairs thanks to sandy. First time in 40 years we will not be launching out of Atlantic Highlands. Looks like Gateway this year. Boat ran awesome. Picked up my pops and decided to head over to the north side of the ammo pier. Marks everywhere. Dropped a couple lines and started throwing plugs. Had several good hits. but no hook ups except for a 18" fluke, go figure. Watched about 15 stripers follow the plug right up to the boat. One was huge, have to say at least 40+". Headed to the marina with nothing except a smile and the anticipation of another great season ahead.
