Sandy Hook
« on: April 28, 2013, 11:18:04 PM »
Today went to keansburg do do some striper fishing. Stopped off at bait shop guy said that was the place to be. Well the pier is there but you can't go out on it. A lot of blank spots from sandy. Stayed ther for a hour not 1 hit. So packed up went to Sandy hook or I thought I would . Park is closed to public still under repairs. So I went to sea bright. Found some nice Jett's. drowned some clam and through some poppers. Nothing. But I walked up to the water and I watched it for about 10 min. Paul was correct I was able to pick out the trough and see where the water was running in and out between that and the jety. I may not have caught a striper but I learned something. Always next weekend.

Good going Dale.  Just remember one thing if you use what you read and finally realize what it is in this case a rip opening to a trough you now have a tool that you can use on any beach anywhere in the world.  All you have to do is find the tides and fish according to them and your hook up rate will increase significantly.

Happy Catching

Paul
