When you're out in the middle, and out of nowhere the wind comes up to 25+, it's Victory at Sea back to the ramp.

If that doesn't happen, or your ModV can handle that, you won't have a problem.

the valley can kick up at times i have taken waves over the bow of my 19footer.but yes if you watch the wind you can fish it.remember when the strobe lights come on head for the ramp.also read the sign at top of the ramp on small boats and life jacket requirements.have fun out there but watch the wind.

Should't be a problem on most days. The back can get kicked up if the wind's blowing that way. I once had to beach the boat and hike out.

I once had a conversation with a ranger there and he said he'd never had a call involving a 14' boat.

fish my alum v 14' with 9.9 in there and spruce run often enough.  everyone is right, can get nasty if that wind kicks up real bad.  just watch for the strobes during wind
It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

I was there 2 weekends ago just going for a walk.  Watched 2 guys lauch what looked to be about a 27-30 foot Steiger craft.  Had to chuckle at that one.  14 feet would be ok on a nice day.
The cure for everything is salt water: sweat, tears, and the sea.
