Jersey Joe and I head out after work at 5pm to play with the fluke for a few hours. Pulling out of Keyport we were hit with a nice chop from the cool E.SE wind. Our first drop was over by the 42 and the wind and incoming tide gave us a nice drift at 1.2 mph. The water temp was 66 Deg but was still full of red algae. Plenty of shorts were caught along with a few cocktail Blues on the squid/spearing combo. The gulp was catching a good amount too. The Sea Hawk and Misty Morn were also in the area and the nets were moving quite a bit.
As the top of the tide approached I made a move to the 19 in the reach channel and drifted the s.west channel edge. Minutes later we were joined by the 3 local party boats. After picking away at the Fluke a keeper finally was put in the box but that was it for the evening.
Back at the marina by sundown and it looks like Sunday will be the next nice day to get out.
Good Luck Everyone,
Eddie
