** Tide Charts...Why do some report different **
« on: June 10, 2013, 06:43:47 PM »
grtn it's  msfsh again.... here are two links that I use when I'm checking out the tides before my trips. I have a tide chart card from Lockwood too in my truck but that's not as off...Why is there almost a hours difference between them? I'm thinking the one that shows it a hr later is accounting for the slack tide?? I like the Tides4Fishing.com one; it's simpler for me to see high/low. I have one on my phone too that is similar to that one with the graph. Thought's?

Trish, I opened both links. One link opens to Sandy Hook and the other opens to New Haven, Connecticut.

When I switch the second link to Sandy Hook the time of low tide was the same in both links.

I checked a second time and it looks like the NOAA site has standard time and not Daylight Savings time. That's the only difference I see, exactly one hour. Just keep it in mind when you are checking.  t^

Sorry bout that. It might automatically default back. When I click it in my favorites it pulls me right to SH. No matter though. Ok so the NOAA site wouldn't automatically change over to day light savings time then,HUH weird. Is there a way I can fix that? But that totally would make sense and explain why there is that hr difference then. I'll use the one I like better I guess...see this is the screen shot over to the right on TIDESFORFISHNG.COM (down below)
for Sandy Hook... its that right??? I thought NOAA was the best site to use. Is there another site that you could suggest if the one I like isn't good? The day light saving time thing is weird...
