6/12/13 Finally an outting worthy of writing a report about. It's been a slow year overall for me and especially slow the past few weeks. I really needed a good day of fishing and good day in general. Far too much negative ging on in our lives lately.
Hit the Manasquan Inlet this morning. Got there early enough to be able to pick the spot I wanted and fish most of the incoming.
First cast produced a short fluke. Second cast was a keeper fluke that hit 3 foot in front of me. He was still to green from the short fight and I lost him when he got the surface.
Then the wind picked up and the bite came and went in flurries for the next 3 hours. Had a few robins, a handful of sundails, half dozen short fluke and 2 keepers at 21in/3.5lbs and 17.5in. Everything hit on either new penny shrimp or sea robin strips.
Those were the first keeper fluke I've caught as an adult.
Without pictures....it never happened.....
