Ok so since Tuesday is Sonia's day off and the morning looked good. We decide to make a run off again in search of Makos. My buddy Nick jumped on to lend a hand to try to seal this deal for her.. After a morning of preparing the boat, we headed out around 9am. I found good water temps, life and a few sharks finning on the surface. After a few pesky blue sharks things got quiet.. We had two small makos stealing bait before the blue sharks returned.. After releasing a big blue shark, Nick was feeding out a bait when it just took off.. Sonia geared up, Nick set the hook and the race was on..Sonia was strapped into a Mako.. Pretty cool sight to watch this mako race across the surface and Sonia pinned to the rail.. After a few boat moves and a little coaching we got a visual.. Yeah it's a legal Mako, 2 cracks of lightning and heavy downpour. The decision was made to kiss steel.. Sonia did a excellent job listening to instruction and also telling me we the fish was around the boat. As soon as we sunk the gaff, Mother Nature let us know time to go...about 10 miles of hail, heavy rain, and extremely hard winds we made it inland .. A nice 100lb mako on the deck for Sonia. Just a great Tuesday afternoon.
Thanks Joe
