rippin lip 8/12 cownose hell
« on: August 13, 2013, 03:10:48 AM »
Left the dock around noon. Headed out to some 50' water. Picked away at a bunch of shorts then the drift stopped and then the scates came. Headed to the beach to find some movement. Nice drift then things got crazy. 6 lines in the water. First one takes off then another one. Total of 5 lines buzzing away. Holly Cow! At first thought it was a school of blues. Look at the fish finder and it is nothing but marks. Cleared the 6th line while working the others. One breaks off then 2 more. Still had 2 hooked up. after a few minutes pull up 2 huge cownose rays. crap rgmn

Made a move back out to the channels with a better drift and a bunch of shorts dock side at 6, 24oz lighter on lead.  thd think I need to figure out why I do this so much. Oh yeah, I am glutton for punishment.
The secret to catching fish is, to fish, where the fish are.

 rofla

Nice report.  Not that I'd want the tangles, but at least you had action, and those rays are cool looking fish. t^
