Fought larg fish for 20 minutes Never Laid eyes on????

Yesterday around 11AM My Brother and Sister in law and I were fishing for fluke on the Axel Carlson Reef for fluke. My Sister in law hooked into a huge fish at first I thought it was a lobster pot or something like that. She sail she could feel it try to run and after 10 minutes she handed it to me. I could tell it was a very large fish it tried to make runs but very slow and the head movement was also very slow My brother would drive the boat so as to keep the fish under us. My thought it was a large ray of some type we all took turns fight the fish for over 20 minutes finally it broke off. Since we were fluking we were using 20lb test Seaguar Fluorocarbon Leader and 30 lb Power Pro it broke on the loop where I had a hook tied above a 4oz bucktail. Any Ideas??? It was just such s slow moving fish with some faster head shakes..I reminded me of a striper after it was worn out but bigger. Thanks
