Fishing the Slop 9/16
« on: September 16, 2013, 04:50:51 PM »
My brother George is in town from NC so, we try to get out and do some fishing. Even though we knew it would be rough we decided to get out and look for some bonito and other speed demons. With fresh intel we headed out to the Manasquan Ridge. It was a fun ride in tight 2' - 3' seas with a good wind. We set out the trolling gear and shortly after it was fish on. We continued around and that first area held fish for us until we needed to leave due to other commitments this evening. At times we had multiple hookups and missed a few. We ended the day with 15 bonito and no falsies. Dark colors were good early and Clark spoons later seemed to work as well. All fish seemed stuffed on sand eels. We also had a catch and release of a gull that got fouled in a line.

It was rough trolling but fun nonetheless.
